We have a very small and reputable breeding program.  Our dogs are kept in the home as house pets and we must limit the number we keep in order to function in a safe and responsible manner.  They are healthy, housebroken, well-behaved and trained to follow simple commands.  They have superior dispositions and are wonderful pets.  They are up to date with shots and boosters.  They have different personalities and quirks but all of our dogs are intelligent, friendly and affectionate.  Unless we are listing a dog or older puppy we have decided not to breed for some reason, it is likely the dogs listed here have been bred.  They have produced the very best puppies in the world and we don't have a single customer complaint about their puppies.  Available adults:

Isabel - Large Chocolate Lab
4 years old, AKC, CKC registered
, great around children of all ages and other dogs, healthy, big, retired dam (she had two litters)

They will do well in homes with other dogs and, most importantly, where they will have lots of human interaction.  You may inquire about any of our adults regardless of what may be  listed on this page.  Our priority is to place them in homes that want them, will best fit them and keep them for the rest of their lives.  We are not at all comfortable placing them in a rushed manner and we are presently developing a re-homing process and guidelines.   Below are a few requirements for those who may be interested in our dogs:

Fenced Yard
Vet Reference
Personal Reference

History of Responsible Pet Ownership

We are not interested in placing our adults with first time pet owners or with those who have a high turnover in pets, for any reason.  We are most interested in people who have the capacity for, and a history of, forming strong and long-lasting bonds with their pets.

We will absolutely consider working with breeder-friendly rescue and other placement organizations but they must be established and they must have a demonstrable history of being breeder-friendly in addition to a demonstrable history of successfully re-homing dogs.   In such a case, the organization would conduct in-depth screening and evaluation of potential placements, including home visits, and keep any adoption fee collected.

Our dogs may need to be spayed/neutered before placement.  That would be easier done after leaving our home unless they are going to a home with multiple dogs in which case there may be no greater risk in having such a procedure done before they leave us.

Our adult dogs are intelligent and well-behaved.  Each dog has its own personality and quirks but we don't have a bad dog in the bunch.  We do not house, and certainly would not breed, dogs that are dangerous, destructive or ill-suited for the home environment.   Our dogs are kept as house pets.   They jump on the furniture and beg for treats.  Some of them jump up to greet people or to get a hug.  Some bark at the door and some don't.  They all know how to sit and follow simple commands.  They could probably all benefit from obedience lessons and would no doubt enjoy them very much.  They love to interact with people and they aim to please.  They are housebroken.  We don't have a problem barker.  We don't have a problem chewer.  We don't have a leg humper.  We don't have a dog that hides under the bed during storms.

We don't own cats or other animals so we can only speak with confidence about their socialization with other dogs.   They have all seen cats and squirrels and birds outside.  Some are more interested in them than others.
Our dogs must have fenced yards.  Our males are the most likely to be runners but they all like to play or get some sunshine and should be able to do so safely and securely.  All of our dogs interact well with our puppies.

The only time they are separated from one another is during heat cycles or when nursing and even that is kept to a minimum with rotation of males or females or, in the case of nursing, with a see-through puppy playpen around the nursing area.  They are not routinely caged and never kept outdoors except for exercise or elimination.  Our dogs have never been tied up.  Any future home must keep them in similar fashion.

We don't mind if they are taught to stay off furniture in their new homes but they mustn't be overly restricted or caged and they should be treated as family members.  They love their people.  Some will make better "only pets" than others.  Some will do better in active lifestyles than others.  Some are better at playing fetch than others and the list goes on and on.

Our dogs are used to having people around and as a result will do better in homes that offer full-time companionship.  Some are more independent than others.  All of our dogs are affectionate but some are more affectionate than others.  None of our dogs are especially clingy.  Some will adjust more quickly than others.  As house dogs, they are fairly inactive but they love to play and go for walks.  They would love to have owners that take them on more walks or to exciting places.

They see the vet yearly or whenever necessary.  Our dogs are healthy and current on vaccinations.  We will provide their medical history as well as our assessment of their personalities and quirks.  Our dogs are registered with either AKC or CKC or both.

Customers see our adults when picking out and picking up their puppies.  They have never lost us a sale.  They are absolutely wonderful creatures.
