Welcome
We are a small home-based breeder of Labradoodles and only Labradoodles. Our adult dogs and their puppies are raised in our house and in the home environment. We breed first and foremost for ourselves and the next generation in our breeding program. We offer the remaining puppies for sale. We've had great success thanks largely to our wonderful customers and also to our wonderful dogs. We are located in
Johnstown, Ohio, which is in central Ohio. Our puppies are located in loving homes throughout the
United States. We welcome questions and do our best to respond to email
and voicemail in a timely manner. Size and GenerationIn order to keep things running smoothly, we've decided to focus on one generation at a time. In 2010, we are focusing on F2 Labradoodles. We won't have as many of these puppies available as we did with our F1 and F1b generations. We currently have no plans to repeat F2 litters, no matter how cute they are. We will have 2-3 litters available between July 2010 and early 2011. The F2 generation is rumored to have the most variance within a litter. While Labradoodles were originally created for allergy-sufferers, not every Labradoodle is hypoallergenic. We suggest anyone with severe allergies look for a wooly F1b, consider a Standard Poodle or perhaps another pet altogether. We do not suggest or guarantee that any of our Labradoodle puppies are 100% hypoallergenic or non-shedding and have no interest in seeing any dog shuffled from home to home because someone was led to believe otherwise. We have a history of very satisfied customers and the best possible homes for our puppies and we aim to keep it that way. We specialize in standard size Labradoodles which should not be confused with royal size or extremely large Labradoodles. Sometimes we have puppies that will end up medium size when fully grown. Our puppies can be expected to max out anywhere from 45-75 pounds depending largely on gender and the size of their parents. Males tend to be a little larger than females. | | Our Parent Dogs Our parent dogs are extremely
intelligent and well-behaved. They are young and very healthy and they
produce the most beautiful puppies in the world. We do not breed our
females for years on end. Most have 1-2 litters, depending on where we
are in our program. That is usually the case for our males as well
since we are actively working toward that perfect Labradoodle and still
climbing the generational ladder.
Due to our small size and the
way we run our program, we often have adult Labradoodles available or
coming available. We encourage anyone interested in an older dog to
inquire about out adult dogs even if they aren't listed as available.
It is emotionally difficult to rehome any of them and if we can line
things up in advance, perhaps even establishing some contact time or
visits before the dog actually leaves our home, it may result in an
easier transition for everyone concerned. This is the main reason we
have decided to move and to get property with more land. While we plan
to keep our program small and in-home, with more land and exercise space
we will be able to keep our retired breeding dogs much longer. There
also won't be as much shuffling around when we need to introduce new
blood into our lines and the list goes on and on. We are so ready to
move!
Easing on Down the Road In July 2010, we made a
decision to move to the country. We love this house and we love this
community. We plan to stay in the same area but farther out. We've found a couple of properties that we like but we have a lot of
work ahead of us. Our lofty goal is to have our house listed around
Labor Day. We have no idea how long it may take to sell and will worry
about that when the time comes. First things first means preparing to
list and to make showing the house as convenient as possible. We are
very excited and will update our blog with any news in this department.
Our Puppies Our parent dogs truly do produce the very best puppies. We might be
partial but we've also had more than one person tell us our puppies are
especially cute and seem a cut above the rest. Like their parents, our
puppies are friendly and intelligent. Our customers rave about how
well-behaved and easily trained our puppies are.
Each one of
our puppies is examined by our vet prior to release. Our vet also
administers vaccines at the time of examination. We offer a two-year
health guarantee and make ourselves available to our customers for any
questions or concerns that may arise at any time. We have never sold a
sick puppy.
We get a lot of questions about temperament and we do
our best to relay our observations to potential customers but we also
encourage folks to visit the puppies and make their own observations.
We haven't seen a bad temperament in our puppies yet and the breed, in
general, is noted for exceptional temperament but no two puppies are the
same. One always demonstrates more or less of any given trait than its
litter mates.
| | Selecting Your Puppy Although we like to know as much as possible
about our customers, we do not collect personal information and choose
puppies for people based on that information. Customers must choose
their own puppy. We encourage anyone interested in our puppies to make
at least one visit, more if necessary, and to select their puppy
firsthand.
Our puppies receive visitors after 3-4 weeks of age,
which is after their eyes have opened and they are getting around pretty
good. Our parent dogs are also available for visitors to meet. We
receive visitors most evenings and weekends, including holiday
weekends. We operate by appointment only but are often available on
short notice. We do our very best not to overlap visits or pickup
times. That said, visitors are welcome to spend as much time as
necessary getting to know us and our dogs. Bringing a new puppy or dog
into a home is a big decision and not one to be made in a rushed
manner. We never rush our customers.
Puppies Are Sold as Pets Only Our puppies are sold as
pets only. However, we do not spay or neuter young puppies. That is
the responsibility of their owners once the puppies are old enough for
such procedures. We do not dock tails or remove dewclaws. We don't
think tail-docking is common for this breed (we
certainly hope not!) but we have been asked the question through inquiries and
thought we would put that out here. Regarding dewclaws, we believe
they are functional digits. We've done a little research and discussed
the matter with our vet. We've reached the conclusion that there are
cases where it may be wise to remove dewclaws such as if they are not
firmly attached or if the dog regularly runs wooded property or thick
vegetation. The majority of modern dogs do not live in such an
environment which negates the need for routine removal, in our opinion.
You are welcome to your own opinion.
Deposits and Payment Puppies can be reserved
with a $200 deposit. We accept payment in the form of cash, personal
check and paypal. We do not accept deposits before paws hit the
ground. We announce upcoming litters on our website and notify
interested people when the puppies are born. Deposits are nonrefundable
unless, God forbid, something happens to the dog at our end.
Labradoodle
puppies go through many changes from the time they are born until the
time they can be released and there may be a situation where a deposit
has been placed on one puppy but, over the course of time, the customer
becomes more interested in another available puppy. Deposits may be
transferred to another available puppy or even to another litter if a
customer determines that is what they want to do. We don't encourage
this but we do permit it. Our aim is to have happy puppies in happy
homes.
We prefer the balance for any puppy be paid in cash at
the time of pickup. We collect sales tax and give all customers a
receipt in the form of our Sales Agreement and Health Guarantee.
We like to stay in touch with our customers but leave the initiative to
them in most cases. We absolutely love to get updates!
